Tripleblaze: ENO Asks: PCT or AT? Support your trail!

Pick your poison: Pacific Crest Trail or Appalachian Trail? Regardless of whether you're east or west of the Mississippi, if you love to hike, the famous beauty of each of these daunting trails is impossible to ignore. Both granted National Scenic Trail status in 1968, the PCT and the AT are known to be sister trails. Though alike in their lengthy stretches from north to south, spanning over 2,000 miles each (the PCT holding big sister status, trumping the AT by about 400 miles), climates, environments and altitudes provide each trail with a vastly different experience for the avid hiker.

Like every great trail, the sisters require maintenance and protection. Thanks to the creation of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) and the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA), both trails have organizations raising awareness and funds with hopes of preserving each of the trails for the enjoyment of generations to come.

To assist in the effort, Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO), an outdoor retailer famous for its expertise in designing quality single and double parachute hammocks, joined forces with both the ATC and PCTA for a friendly competition.
