Tripleblaze: Single Female, Camping Alone
I am what you could call a bonafide solo-road-tripper. Each car that I've owned, with the exception of my current rig, I have driven to its untimely death-miles of smiles right to the end. I can't get enough of the open road.
Amazingly enough, with as many times as I have made solo trips up and down the eastern seaboard for one reason or another, I never thought to throw a tent in the back and camp out alone. It always worked out that a friend had a couch, I slept in my car or I grabbed a cheap hotel room when my heavy eyelids begged. As much as I love camping, doing it alone, to me, always seemed like the unnecessary start to a horror flick. This was the case until my most recent road trip from Michigan to the Pacific Northwest.
