Bucket List

There are so many things to see and do in this world, and while I want to see and do EVERYTHING, I've decided to take a more reasonable approach and make a list of things I really don't want to miss. The list is a bit of a door opener in that everytime I complete an item, I add at least three more ideas. It grows constantly, but I suppose that is all part of living.

Things to do:

  • Skydive
  • White Water Raft
  • Scuba Dive
  • Hike to the summit of Mt. Carrie in the Olympics
  • Hike the entirety of at least one National Scenic Trail
  • Hike the Grand Canyon, rim to rim
  • Road trip the entire Route 66 (or at least the parts that are still drivable!)
  • Times Square on NYE
  • Swim in all five Great Lakes - 3 down, 2 to go!
  • Ride a train across the United States
  • Ride a ferry to Alaska
  • Chase a Tornado
  • Adopt a dog
  • Spend a summer camping around Maine
  • Dedicate a week to exploring the Smithsonian
  • Write and Publish a book
  • Record a music album
  • Learn to play the guitar
  • Kayak down the Chicago river at sunset
  • Ride in a hot air balloon
  • Visit all National Parks in the Continental United States
  • Visit all 50 states - 46 down, 4 to go!
  • See a manatee
  • Sail across Lake Michigan on a sail boat
  • Dive to see a shipwreck
  • Start a food fight
  • Walk across the Mackinac Bridge

Places to See:

  • Vegas and the Hoover Dam
  • Salem, MA
  • Yaak, MT (as read in the book Winter: Notes from Montana by Rick Bass)
  • The Great Wall of China
  • Gettysburg
  • Europe, specifically Ireland, Italy, Great Britain and Spain
  • San Francisco, CA

Music Events:

  • Concert at Red Rocks
  • Austin City Limits
  • Coachella
  • See Josh Ritter in concert in Idaho (was supposed to have happened in 2013, but due to wildfires in August, the show was cancelled right as I crossed the Idaho border. Though there are a million artists I would like to see live, this one makes the bucket list because it was so close I could taste it. It tasted good.)

What have I crossed off the list? Check out BEEN THERE! DONE THAT!
